Varun Tej to star in Vijay Konda’s next

Presently shooting for Sreenu Vaitla’s ‘Mister’ in Chikmagalur, actor Varun Tej, Talkies has exclusively, learnt, has given his nod to star in ‘Gundejaari Gallanthayyinde’ director Vijay Kumar Konda’s next. The project is likely to roll towards the year-end or early next year.

A source close to the development confirms, “Vijay met Varun last month in Banswada (where the actor was shooting for Sekhar Kammula’s ‘Fidaa’) and narrated him the romantic comedy. He gave a two-and-a-half hour narration and the actor was mighty impressed.

He felt it would be ideal for him moving forward after ‘Fidaa’ and ‘Mister’ and immediately green-signalled it. Vijay later narrated the script to Naga Babu and he too gave it a thumbs-up.”

The source adds, “Contrary to some reports, Varun is not doing a film with ‘Karthikeya’ director Chandoo Mondeti and this, in all probability, will be his next after he wraps up ‘Fidaa.’ He will sit down with Vijay and take a call on who will produce the movie.”
