Here’s some awesome news for Pokémon fans. The company released the first two episodes of its latest animated series on YouTube, ‘Pokémon Generations’ recently. As far as the 20th anniversary celebrations are concerned, it looks like the company is leaving no media untouched in making its mark; through the web series, ‘The Pokémon Company’ gets its fans ready for the future by showing off its past.

Each episode is three to five minutes long and highlights characters and memorable moments from the previously released Pokémon games. Since debuting in 1996, Pokémon has generated approximately $45 billion in revenue thanks to games, anime, cards and merchandise. The series has seen a new wave of popularity thanks to the augmented reality game ‘Pokémon Go’.

“The new animated series revisits each generation of the Pokémon video game series to shed light on some timeless moments. From the earliest days in the Kanto region to the splendor of the Kalos region, go behind the scenes and witness Pokémon history with new eyes.

These bite-sized adventures will be released every week through December 23,” said a statement released by the company before the launch. The series is separate from the Pokémon anime, which has been running since 1997. ‘Generations’ is the first Pokémon animated series created for YouTube.
