Hyderabad: In what is a proud moment for Tollywood, actor Prabhas will join the ranks of noted personalities at Madame Tussauds in Bangkok, the world famous wax museum announced on Saturday. Fans can stand shoulder-to-shoulder and take selfies with the figure, come March 2017.

After PM Narendra Modi’s wax statue that was installed in April 2016, Prabhas would be the third Indian personality who will stand tall at the museum. Describing him as an actor who is “in the spotlight”, the museum said the Telugu actor had given the museum’s team of artists and experts a sitting in Hyderabad, where 350 photos and measurements were taken of him to enable a truly flawless re-creation of his likeness.

He will be depicted as his character Amarendra Baahubali from the monstrous hit and will be seen in his battle armour at the museum.“I am really happy to have been selected by Madam Tussauds and this was only possible because of the fans. I am grateful for their unconditional love and support.

I am also thankful to my guru, SS Rajamouli, for the opportunity to work in this fantastic project called Baahubali,” Prabhas said in a statement. “He is not merely all about his unique style and macho charm in his screen presence but also a superstar who fully lives up to his family legend of his father, Uppalapati Surya Narayana Raju who is a well known Tollywood producer and his uncle Krishnam Raju, the famous Tollywood actor and politician,” Noppadon Prapimpunt, Head of Bangkok Cluster for Merlin Entertainments (Thailand), and General Manager of Madame Tussauds Bangkok, said.

Other Indian actors to have their wax statue at Madame Tussauds are Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Katrina Kaif.
