Taking to his social media pages on Thursday, filmmaker Madhura Sreedhar announced his long-in-the-planning movie ‘Fashion Designer- S/o Ladies Tailor’ with Sumanth Ashwin. Although some reports claimed that Abhiram Daggubati, second son of noted producer D Suresh, would be making his debut with the film, to be directed by Vamsi, it has now been established that Sumanth Ashwin has made the cut.

Speaking to Talkies, Sreedhar said, “It’s the story of ladies tailor son and transpires in the same village where the original unfolded. He is addressed as the son of ladies tailor by the villagers but he wants to be called as a fashion designer. How he falls in love with three girls and what follows is told in a humorous way.”

Smiling, he added, “It would also deal with palmistry. The hero has the very rare Manmadha rekha which makes him win the love of girls easily.” When asked why he decided to invest on Vamsi whose BO record is poor of late, Sreedhar said, “Every director goes through a lean phase. With Vamsi, he is a good listener. He has roped in a young team comprising 10 members and they helped him to pen the script. It’s a contemporary slapstick comedy. I’ve supported him technically by roping in Mani Sharma and ‘#Pellichoopulu’ cameraman Nagesh.”

To be shot under Rs 4 crore, Sreedhar said the film will flag-off on November 1 and will be wrapped up in a start-to-finish schedule. “We would be shooting it completely in the Godavari belt. The idea is to capture the pristine beauty of the place before Polavaram Project takes shape,” he pointed out, adding that the film will be ready for Maha Shivarathri next February.
