When Shradda Das was offered the role of a scribe in director Praveen Sattaru’s film, little did she know about the shuddh Telugu lines she had to utter. However, when the opportunity came, the Bengali bombshell nailed it.

Recently, when Shraddha commenced shooting her part she was able to pick her long monologues without a fuss than the artistes around her. The director was floored with her diction and fluency so much so that he was able to wrap up the schedule far more quickly than originally planned.

“We have shot several scenes in my initial days of shoot and I have long monologues. Since I play a reporter, I have to speak continuously for a long time, so I prepared well for a month. Praveen and the entire crew were surprised to see me speaking pages of dialogues without many retakes. He did not expect it.

We have wrapped up the scenes 50% in sight of the shooting days we originally planned. I was talking in swachamaina Telugu. I never heard those words in eight years. Moreover, I graduated in Mass Communications and was also trained in broadcast before, so I know the tone of the journalist how they report and it made things a bit easy”, she shares.
