Mehreen hires a Telugu tutor

Inundated with offers, the Bathinda girl is keen on perfecting the dialect

She may be just one film year old in Tollywood but Mehreen Kaur is keen on improving her Telugu. To realise this, she has hired a tutor and is learning the basics from him on a daily basis. “I’ve started taking Telugu lessons very recently.

I learned a bit of the language while shooting for ‘Krishnagaadi Veeraprema Gaadha’ but as I immediately moved to Mumbai for my Bollywood debut ‘Phillauri,’ I lost some connect. Now that I’m back to Hyderabad, I’m required to pull my socks up.

Though I have issues with present and past tenses, I have picked up a few words. I’m a quick learner and may be in a month or two, I will be fluent with the language,” Mehreen, who recently signed a film alongside Sundeep Kishan, promises. “Going forward, the plan is to dub for my roles.”

She insists that whenever she is in a fix about some things in Tollywood, she would dial Nani and Rakul Preet Singh. “I guess hard work is the key but I do take advice whenever I’m in a quandary. I know both Nani and Rakul are there for me.

However, I feel I should take decisions on my own at this stage of my career as they will help me in the long run to be more confident as a person,” she says.
