Sci-fi series "Dune" will get a big screen treatment.
The movie reboot is now in the works from Legendary Entertainment that will be simultaneously developing both a movie and a possible TV spinoff for the hugely-influential science fiction book series by the late Frank Herbert.
Of course, "Dune" was originally turned into a movie back in the mid-'80s by David Lynch, although the film doesn't rank highly among fans of Lynch or the books.
Producing this reboot with Legendary will be Frank's son Brian Herbert and his own daughter Kim, Brian's nephew Byron Merritt, Thomas Tull, Mary Parent and Cale Boyter.
No release date has yet been set for Legendary's "Dune" movie.
