Author Rudyard Kipling’s years in India formed The Jungle Book

Noted author Rudyard Kipling was born on December 30, 1865 in Bombay. His father, John Lockwood Kipling, was the then head of J. J. School of Arts. Rudyard Kipling spent the first six years of his life in India and then returned after living in London for 10 years. From 1883-1889, he worked for local newspapers such as the Civil and Military Gazette in Lahore and The Pioneer in Allahabad. The Jungle Book, his collection of short stories, was first published in magazines in 1893–94. Some of the illustrations in the original publication were made by his father.

The lead actor Neel Sethi is an Indian American boy:

Neel Sethi, an Indian American boy who will be making his on screen debut with The Jungle Book played the role of Mowgli in the movie.

The realistic environments make it look and feel in India

While the principal photography for the movie took place entirely in Los Angeles, some remote jungle locations in India were photographed and used as reference during post-production of the movie.

Highest Hollywood Earning In India

When the film was released, it became an instant hit for its walk down memory lane as the film became India’s Highest-Grossing Hollywood Film with more than 200 crore plus ticket sales. Adding to it, a Hindi version was also released featuring Bollywood biggest stars lending their voices to the film such as Priyanka Chopra ,Irrfan Khan and more.

Jungle Jungle baat chali hai pata chala hai.. A infamous song shown once again!

During the time of the release of the film, Disney sought the help of Vishal Bhardwaj and Gulzar to recreate the famous song in the animated series that created more nostalgia for adults and youngsters too with the song!
