Rahul to test his luck again with ‘Venkatapuram’

With his subsequent films after ‘Happy Days’—‘Rainbow,’ ‘Prema Oka Maikam’ and ‘Love You Bangaram’—going out like the briefest of candles at the box-office, Rahul aka Tyson has pinned high hopes on his next, ‘Venkatapuram’. Directed by debutant Venu Madikanti, the film, a thriller, is a joint venture between Good Cinema Group’s Shreyas Srinivas and T Phanikumar.

Speaking at a promotional event of the film recently in Hyderabad, Rahul said, “Films chose me till now but I had the luxury of choosing ‘Venkatapuram’. I got to know Venu two-and-a-half years ago and when he narrated me the script, I really got excited. He is a talent to watch out for. It’s a performance-oriented role I’m playing in the film.”

Srinivas said the film went on to floors in early July and they are through with the shoot. “We are planning to release the film in December-end or early January. We are confident about it and we intend to release it on our own.”

Newbie Mahima Makwana is cast opposite Rahul in the film.
