Model-turned-actress Sana Khan will be donning a powerful and hot avatar in the upcoming film ‘Wajah Tum Ho’

Sana Khan, who was seen in the reality shows ‘Bigg Boss’ and ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’, will be seen in Vishal Pandya’s upcoming crime-thriller ‘Wajah Tum Ho’. The model-turned-actress has also done a few films down south.

The actress was in Hyderabad along with her cast and director to promote her movie. Sana states that she is very confident about the film and is pretty excited for the release. In an exclusive interview, Sana talks about the bold scenes in the film, her bonding the co-actors and more

Excerpts:
Tell us about your role in the film ‘Wajah Tum Ho?’
I am playing a lawyer Sia Sharma in this film. She is a powerful and strong girl. I have always wanted to see a woman in a very strong character. I don’t like girls who are pushovers or have sad stories and are always dependent on people. I think even if you are that, then you must try to change and bring the power within yourself so that no one has an upper hand on you.

I have been a very strong person in my life always I don’t let anyone rule my life, so when I got this role, I realised that this is what I want to portray on screen also. I always feel film is the largest medium to promote anything, be it a social message or something powerful, the audience always take back something from the film. This girl is very dominating in the film she has an upper hand on everything she talks to everybody, she listens to everybody she is in power but she doesn’t get carried away. You say whatever you want but she will do only what she wants to do.

What was the first thought that came to your mind when you realised that the script has so many bold scenes?
I don’t mind doing bold scenes if the script demands it. However, if it is done by any low-grade director or producer then I think twice before doing it but when you’re doing films with a classy director like Vishal, and you know about his previous works, then it is sure to add value to the film. It’s not just about kissing. It is about kissing right in a right film and I think that’s very important.

A lot of things should be taken care of when you do such scenes. When Vishal was there, I never thought about those things. Vishal told me in the middle of the shooting, “This is not your type of film. Even though the film has other things than intimate scenes but as a director I am telling you that you cannot do intimate scenes because I can see how scared you are throughout,” and it helped a lot to do those scenes.

What is the film about?
It is about hacking and hacking does not get much importance although it’s one of the worst crimes. Hacking is something, which breaks you down. I think we have done it in a different way. In the film they hack a satellite and it broadcasts a live murder on TV. Imagine you are sitting and watching some channel and suddenly you watch somebody getting murdered live on the screen.

It is sure to sends chills down your spine. I am sure when you watch this film you will forget about the intimate scenes in the movie (laughs). When you come out of the theatre we are hoping that you take the concept in your mind and heart. That is one thing we all are guaranteeing.

After ‘Jai Ho’ why did you take such a long time to do a movie?
I had a cameo role in ‘Jai Ho’. I did that film because Salman wanted me to do that role as he thought I could do that part well. After that, within a year I got an offer for a comedy film but somehow we didn’t start the rolling because the director already started working on another film with another actor.

However, I got another role in between ‘Wajah Tum Ho’ but I did not do it because, I think, people always remember you as an actor from the last film you have done. I have never worked for money and I have never worked for just working because I don’t have that concept in my life. I believe in the Hindi phrase ‘Kaam mein imandar hona bahut zaroori hai’ (You have, to be honest in your work).

When you put a lot of effort into a film; there is a chance that the movie might become a hit or a flop but your work will be appreciated for sure. I have a lot of faith in this project and I am sure it will do well.

Any dream actor you would like to work with?
It is Shah Rukh Khan! I have been watching him since my childhood. He is the king of romance and I would love to do a romantic scene with him on screen someday.

How was your experience working with Gurmeet Choudhary, Rajnish Duggal Sharman Joshi and Vishal Pandya?
It was great working with them. I knew Gurmeet from a long time and I used to torture him on sets with my jokes because he wouldn’t have a comeback for them.

I made him conscious while doing intimate scenes and he used to go to Vishal and say, “Bro, are my dialogues and scenes good?” Then Vishal used to reply saying, “Why you keep calling me for these things,” and Gurmeet’s response to that was, “Sana ko dekh ke mera confidence hill jata hai (When I see Sana I lose my confidence).” That’s how he was tortured by me.

This is the first time that I have worked with Sharman and Rajnish; and they are very easy going people. I didn’t face any issues working with them. With Vishal it was a very different experience for me because as a director he molded me the way he characterised Sia. He made me perform so differently compared to my previous works that when people will watch the film they will never say this is Sana Khan.
