Poorna to play a mom again

While Poorna received rave reviews for her impressive portrayal of a pregnant mother with two children in her Tamil film ‘Savarakathi’, the actress is set for an encore. The ‘Jayamu Nichayamu Ra’ actress will play a mother of a two in her next Telugu film ‘Rakshasi’. The Kerala-based actress is paired opposite Abhinav in the horror-thriller directed by Panna Royal.

“This is a performance-oriented role, which demands a lot of character to pull off some intense scenes. We have seen Poorna’s performances in her earlier films and believed only she can do justice to this role. It is a strong character and she liked the role too,” reasons Panna on why he roped in Poorna.

‘Rakshasi’, which is a sequel to ‘Calling Bell’, shows a couple’s (and their children) fight against a ghost after getting into a haunted house. “We are also screening the first six minutes of ‘Calling Bell’, for those who missed out on the prequel for better recall. The film also has content that is entertaining, and will have the audience in splits.”
