Farah Karimi, who was last seen in action thriller ‘Dhruva’ as Aravind Swami’s love interest, is winning accolades for her good work in the latest release Gauthamiputra Sathakarini’ (‘GPSK’). The lissom actress, who made her Bollywood debut with Himesh Reshammiya's ‘Teraa Surroor’, is ecstatic with the response and compliments she’s getting for her portrayal of a Greek Warrior Princess in the period drama.

“I am thrilled to get such a reception, and am thankful to director Krish for choosing me for the role. He saw my scenes from my earlier film ‘Teraa Surroor’. He liked my look, screen presence and asked me to come to Hyderabad for a look test. He narrated me about how my role is driven by revenge, and the mystery surrounding it. I liked it and was soon on board,” she recalls.

For someone who never shot for an action sequence, Farah admits that looking the part was challenging. “Since it is the role of a warrior prince everything from my body language, expressions, the way I walk needs to be changed. I need to get hang of it before shooting (smiles), so I underwent training in sword fighting and horse rising in Mumbai, but it was very demanding.

Although shooting for the action scenes was difficult, I enjoyed it. The role gave me an opportunity to show a different side of my acting, and has also opened me up as an actor.” Farah, who was born in Iran and raised in Holland, tips Balakrishna as a thorough professional. “Working with him was a great experience. Since, I don’t know the language; Balayya sir ensured that I was comfortable on the sets. He has a great sense of humor, and I learnt so much from him.”
