Earlier titled ‘Duet,’ the film has been renamed ‘Cheliyaa’

Acclaimed director Mani Ratnam’s next, ‘Kaatru Veliyidai,’ will no longer be called as ‘Duet’ in Telugu, as the makers have gone for a title change.

The new title is ‘Cheliyaa’. We hear it was a member of Dil Raju team who prompted the change. “It was Mani sir’s idea of naming the Telugu dubbed version as ‘Duet’ and Raju and Co happily accepted it.

Only very recently a member of Raju team suggested renaming it as ‘Cheliyaa’ and when Mani sir was told about it, he said it’s more apt than ‘Duet’. In fact, he is more kicked about the new title,” said a source close to Raju.

Starring Karthi, who will be seen a pilot, and Aditi Rao Hydari, who is playing a doctor, in the lead, ‘Cheliyaa’ is set against the backdrop of snow-clad Kashmir and has also been shot in Ooty and Hyderabad among other places.

Meanwhile, the film’s teaser introducing the ravishing Aditi journeying on the snow capped mountains was unveiled on Thursday and the netizens took an instant liking to it. The romantic drama is set to open this March.
