Megastar does the muhurat honours. Samantha, as reported by Talkies earlier, is the film’s female lead, while Jagapathi Babu is the latest addition

The muhurat of Ram Charan’s yet-untitled next with Sukumar was held at production house Mythri Movie Makers office in Hyderabad on Monday. Megastar Chiranjeevi sounded the clapboard for the first shot, while Koratala Siva directed it.

Speaking later, the producer’s trio of Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar and Mohan Cherukuri said, “Sukumar garu has come up with a novel concept which has the potential to show Ram Charan in complete a new avatar. Samantha is on board to romance Charan while Jagapathi Babu will be playing a key supporting role.”

They, however, failed to reveal the shooting details, saying that the shoot itinerary will be announced soon. The makers have also revealed an innovative poster of the film where Charan, in typical village attire, is depicted carrying water on a kavadi.

Technicians like Devi Sri Prasad (music) and Ratnavelu (cinematography) are on board for the project, touted to be a rural love story, where Charan will be playing a hearing impaired youth. Sukumar has zeroed in on Hope Island, Kakinada and Kothapalli, East Godavari as the setting for the film.
