Producer KC Sekhar Babu passes away

Hyderabad: Noted producer KC Sekhar Babu, who produced films like ‘Sardaar’, ‘Subbaraju Gari Kutumbam’, ‘Samsarabandham’ and ‘Mutha Mestri’ among others, passed away here in the wee hours of Saturday following a cardiac arrest.

Born in Guntur to K Kamala Devi and Narayana Rao, Sekhar developed interest towards films while pursuing intermediate.
As his father was a noted distributor back then, it didn’t turn out to be a difficult task for him to get the dates of actress Jamuna for his first film ‘Mamatha’.
He later went on to produce many films but quit production with Sumanth and Laya-starrer ‘Ramma Chilukamma’ (2001). Sekhar worked as a Producer’s Council Secretary for a major part of last decade.
