Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan said that she is not keen on doing films in the southern film industry as she doesn't understand the language.

At an event in Mumbai, Kareena was asked whether she is willing to work in Tamil, Telugu or Malayalam films. The 36-year-old actress, however, said that she cannot connect with south films.

"I truly respect all south films. They have great content. I respect and admire them. There are great actors from Pawan, Rajinikanth sir to Mammootty sir. There is so much great work being done in Telugu or Malayalam films. I don't understand the language and so I feel the connection will not be there. That's the only problem," Kareena said.

"Having said that, one of the best films in my career was with a great director from south, Mani Ratnam. I got the opportunity to work with him and it's great,” Kareena added.

The actress featured in Mani Ratnam's 2002 film Yuva, which also starred Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji and Ajay Devgn.

Kareena, who welcomed her first child, a son, with husband, actor Saif Ali Khan in December, is enjoying life as she said: "I am in the best phase of my life now. I am happy and I look at life and everything with positivity.”

The actress also said that she is fascinated with nature, adventure and wildlife.

"Both Saif and I love wildlife and adventure and we do visit a few places. We also watch wildlife and national history shows. I also like watching comedy shows," she said.

As far as work is concerned, Kareena Kapoor Khan was last seen in 2016’s Udta Punjab and is currently busy with her next project Veere Di Wedding, co-starring Sonam Kapoor and Swara Bhaskar.
