Satellite bonanza for Katamarayudu

The satellite rights of Pawan Kalyan-starrer ‘Katamarayudu’ have been acquired by a leading general entertainment channel for a whopping Rs 12.5 crore, making it one of the biggest deals of late.

An industry insider says, “The amount is staggering despite the fact that Pawan’s last film, ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’, tanked at the box-office. It shows the craze that he commands. The teaser and the songs (of ‘Katamarayudu’) that have been released till now helped the producer Sharrath Marar to get what he wanted, almost.”

Presently, the film’s songs are being shot in Europe. The unit is expected to be back in Hyderabad next week. A remake of Tamil hit ‘Veeram’, the film will be releasing on March 24 on a mammoth note.
