The Zookeeper’s Wife to release next month

“The Zookeepers Wife”, an adaptation of Diane Ackermans 2007 novel of the same name, will release in India on April 7. Directed by Niki Caro and written by Angela Workman, the film features Jessica Chastain along with Johan Heldenbergh, Michael McElhatton and Daniel Bruhl.

In the film, Chastain plays historic figure Antonina Zabinska, a Polish woman who smuggled Jews out of the country when it was occupied during World War II. The movie is being brought to India by PVR Pictures, read a statement.
Inspired by a true story, the film is set directly after the Nazi invasion of Poland in 1939. Antonina runs the Warsaw Zoo along with her husband Jan Zabinski (Heldenbergh).
