The conflict between distributors in Tamil Nadu could affect the release of much-hyped Bahubali 2 in Tamil Nadu since a film distributor on Wednesday moved High Court in Madras, seeking a stay on April 28 release of the magnum opus. “Contrary to reports, court has not stayed the release of the film but served notice to the parties concerned and posted the case for next hearing,” says exhibitor-distributor Venkatesh from Chennai.

Going into details, Chennai-based ACE Media, in its civil suit against MS Sharavanan of Sri Green Productions, citing unpaid dues of Rs 1.18 which was supposed to be cleared before the release of the film.

However, the latter has reneged on his agreement and now claiming that he would repay the same after the release of the film. “It’s a financial dispute and will be sorted out soon,” adds another distributor Rukmangathan and describes Bahubali 2 as ‘much-awaited’ film during this summer and ‘expected to draw sensational openings’.
