Kona Venkat to get share in profits

Writers in Tollywood generally have to be content with remuneration but here’s an exception. Famed writer Kona Venkat will reportedly get a share in profits along with a hefty pay cheque for the upcoming film ‘Ninnu Kori’, starring Nani and Nivetha Thomas in the lead.

According to sources, the writer who is penning the screenplay for this romantic love story was instrumental in the project with a debutant director Shiva Nirvana taking-off. Apparently, Kona had convinced producer DVV Danayya about the ‘potential’ in the script and fine-tuned it to deliver a winner.

“Kona sir made all efforts to make the film happen and also penned a racy screenplay to hit the bull’s eye at the box office, so the producer has assured him of a share in profits for his creative contribution,” says a source.

In recent times, Kona has hit a lean patch with duds like ‘Dictator’ and `Shankarabharanam’ but the writer who has a great flair for comedy, is looking to bounce back with this breezy rom-com. Let’s wait and see...
