Rakul to steal the show

After providing oomph in various films like ‘Bruce Lee’ and ‘Sarrainodu’, pretty actress Rakul Preet Singh will be showcasing acting chops in her upcoming release ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’ since her chudidar-clad avatar has triggered good response.

“I am glad that director Boyapati has placed confidence and cast me in a meaty role,” said the actress, without revealing much. It seems that the actress has been consciously picking roles that would exploit her histrionic skills rather than her svelte body. “She stole the show in ‘Ra Randoi Veduka Chuddam’ and now again she is doing an author-backed role in ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’ and bound to walk away with acting honours.

Already, her simple chudidar-clad look received overwhelming response from fans and viewers,” says a source, close to the actress. The ‘Kick 2’ star will also be seen in another performance-oriented role in Tamil film ‘Theeran Aadhigaram Ondru’.

“It’s a well-defined character she was longing for and breathed life into it. She matched acting strides with highly-talented Karthi. After these two films, she will become sought-after actress for meaty roles,” he adds. Of course, she will don glam-driven roles, but roles which provide scope for acting will be high on her priority list.
