After a cameo in ‘Manam’, veteran Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan is making a proper debut in T-town with a ‘special role’ in Chiranjeevi’s magnum opus ‘Sye Raa Narasimhareddy’. “Amitabh has a very important role in the film which befits his stature and immense talent,’ says a source, close to the unit.

Actually, the ‘Deewar’ star has been close to Chiranjeevi’s family for long time and also ensured Ram Charan Tej to reprise his role in the remake of his cult movie ‘Zanjeer’ a few years ago. “He has been in touch with Chiru’s family and they meet up whenever they get an opporunity. Amitabh has good regard for Chiru and share mutual respect,’ the source adds.

However, the 75-year-old star was supposed to do a special role in Balakrishna’s film ‘Raithu’. The Nandamuri star met the actor on the sets of ‘Sarkar 3’ along with director Krishna Vamsi, but ‘Sharabi’ actor was reluctant to play President of India in the proposed film.

According to a source, the actor was supposed to hand over the best farmer award to Balakrishna who plays the farmer in the film and praise him for his innovative farming methods. “He wanted to work with Balakrishna but didn’t want to play President onscreen,” the source concludes.
