After essaying heavy-duty roles in films like ‘Nakshatram’ and ‘Jawan’, young actor Sai Dharam Tej is all set to play a happy-go-lucky guy in his upcoming big ticket untitled film with ace director V V Vinayak to enthrall fans. “It is a tale of a youngster who happily spends his life with friends and family until he stumbles upon a hurdle. His life takes a new turn,’ says a source, close to the unit.

The big budget film being produced by C Kalyan will begin shooting from September 22. Right now, the director is fine tuning the script penned by Akula Siva with Satyanand and other writers to make it a ‘light-hearted’ action entertainer, rather than a heavy-duty stuff. “Even though, Sai and Karunakaran film has been announced, but mega hero will start work and finish Vinayak’s film before moving to other projects,’ adds the source.

Perhaps, a disaster like ‘Nakshatram’ wherein he played a brooding cop, could have made mega family to advice Sai to go slow and play roles of his age before taking up larger-than-life roles, since he has a long career ahead. Heeding to it, ‘Winner’ star will be essaying boy-next-door roles for some time, before shifting gears and taking up matured roles.

“Even Vinayak has envisaged a youngish role for Sai Dharam Tej and tweaking the script to give a new image to young actor besides exploiting his dancing and acting skills in right measure,’ concludes the source. Surely, a challenge for Vinayak who directed big stars like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, to dish out a youthful entertainer to connect with new age viewers.
