It seems that producer Sai Korapati has reportedly offered Rs 5 crore for the director to helm the much-awaited NTR biopic with Balakrishna in the lead since it is touted to be a prestigious project for Nandamuri family. “It is true that the producer has offered a fancy price for Teja since he bounced back into the limelight with a political thriller and revived his fortunes,” says a source, close to the unit.

Actually, Teja received a share of more than Rs 3 crore in the profits of ‘Nene Raja Nene Mantri’ and now he is reportedly jacked up his pay cheque, to cash in on his 30-crore hit. When contacted, a source close to director admits that “director is in talks with producer Sai Korapati for the biopic, but yet to discuss the remuneration aspect,” he cuts short. It is needless to say that in T-town, a director’s career is determined by the fate of his last release. Hence, ‘Jayam’ maker has good enough reason to up the ante.
