Vijayawada: Film hero and MLA NandamuriBalakrishna inaugurated the Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation office at Pandit Nehru Bus Station premises here on Saturday. On this occasion, he said the government would encourage low budget movies and television medium.

The encouragement for low budget movies would bring more employment opportunities to the local artistes. He said the government would organise meetings with experts of the film industries and TV field soon.

He recalled the film development corporation office came to Hyderabad from Chennai on the auspicious Vijayadashami day in the past. Now the office has been inaugurated the same day in Andhra Pradesh after the state bifurcation, he said.

He praised the services of NT Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao and DVS Raju for shifting the film industry from Chennai to Hyderabad. He also assured that he would bring the problems of film industry to the Chief Minister. He hoped the film industry would get developments rapidly in the state even the state has been facing challenges from bifurcation.

AP State Film Development Corporation chairman Ambica Krishna said the film industry is facing challenges in tax payment in the two states after the state bifurcation.

He asked the government to provide basic infrastructure for artistes. Corporation managing director N Venkateswarlu, member Yalamanchali Ramachandra Rao and several officials were also present in the meeting.
