Gruham Review & Rating

Gruham is the title of the new film in the town. The film was titled Avval in Tamil and it was also titled The House Next Door in Hindi. Gruham is a horror film co-written and directed by Milind Rau. The film stars Siddharth and Andrea in the lead roles. Siddharth is also a co-producer and co-writer for this film which was shot simultaneously in all the three languages. After a lot of delays, the film released. The movie opened to positive reviews in the other two languages. Let's see how the film shaped up.

Story:

The story of the film Gruham reveals about Krish (Siddarth) and his wife Lakshmi (Andrea) who have been affected by a girl Jenny (Anisha Victor) and her family members living in the house next door to them.

Performances :

The film stars Siddharth in the lead role and he is one of the best performers in the south. He proved his worth once again with this film and has delivered a great performance which will stay with us for a long time. Andrea Jeremiah who played the role Lakshmi is also impressive. Both the lead actors make a good pair on the screen. Atul Kulkarni who played a key role in the film is good as per his character limitations and impressed everyone. Suresh who was also seen in the film got a nice role and he impressed everyone with the role he has got. Anisha Victor gas got a remarkable role in her career.

Technical Aspects:

The cinematography by Shreyas Krishna is top notch. Every single frame is so perfect that we are so much involved in the movie. The editing by Lawrence Kishore is nice and his way of story telling is impressive. The music by Girish has come out well and there are three songs in the film and every song come out well. Especially the background music for the film is apt in a way that it haunts us till we reach our home.
The writing is perfect and the dialogues are good. The concept of the film is interesting and the way it was narrated is also nice. The production values maintained by Via Com and Siddharth are grand. Technically the film is top notch.

Verdict:

The film is one of those rare horror films that we wanted to enjoy the core. Unlike the regular horror films, the makers have stuck to the genuinity in the storyline and did not get deviated at any point. The film will reveal Siddharth in a new avatar and it gives us a completely new feeling of a horror film. Everyone did their job very well in the film and the film might remind us of the film's conjuring and Anabelle regarding the content.

On a whole, it is a commendable effort by Siddharth and his team which deserves a watch for sure in the theatres. Don't miss the film and spread the word.
