Tharun Bhaskar’s next a road movie

New-age director Tharun Bhaskar who made waves with ‘Pellichoopulu’ and bagged the coveted national award is now making a ‘road movie’ with all newcomers and shot in some locales in Goa and other places.

“It is a very interesting and engaging road movie. Where the characters who are mostly young discover their inner self and life as well,” said an industry source. Earlier, ace director Ram Gopal Varma and director Shekar Suri explored this road movie genre in films like ‘Road’ and ‘A Film By Aravind’ respectively.

Now, it’s Tharun Bhaskar who made gripping short films like ‘Journey’ and ‘Anukokunda’ to make this film for the leading production house, Suresh Productions, adds the source.
The graduate from New York Film Academy took short film route to big screen and started exploring new themes. “The director worked on this script for almost one year to hit the bull’s eye,” the source points out.

Earlier, producer Raj Kandukuri who made ‘Pellichoopulu’ told The Hans India that Tharun is the ‘man to watch out for’ and it seems to be true. Hope this young director raises the bar on Telugu cinema which is reeling under the weight of formulaic movies.
