Akhil eyes Atlee for a blockbuster ?

Akhil Akkineni after working with seasoned directors like V V Vinayak and Vikram Kumar, is now showing interest to work with new-age Tamil director Atlee for a big-ticket entertainer.

To be produced by popular producer Giri, it will be a mega bucks movie for the scion of Akkineni family. “Ït is true that Akhil is interested to work with Tamil director Atlee since he is good in coming with refreshing stories,” says a source, close to the unit.

In fact, director Atlee became popular even among Telugu viewers with the success of his dubbed film ‘Raja Rani’ featuring Arya and Nayantara. He became a star director with the massive response for ‘Adhirindi’ (‘Mersal’ in Tamil) to become a sought-after director in Kollywood.

‘’Akhil liked his work in the emotional love saga ‘Raja Rani’ and full-blown mass entertainer ‘Adhirindi’, so they could join hands, if everything goes right,” the source concludes.

Undeniably, Akhil has a taste for new-age entertainers and is also looking beyond Telugu directors to score a blockbuster especially after a dud like ‘Akhil’ and average grosser ‘Hello’, Akhil has to become a bankable star with his next outing to stay in the reckoning.
