Troubles For 'Gang' Release
Suriya\'s upcoming movie \'Thaanaa Serndha Koottam\' dubbed as \'Gang\' in Telugu has fallen into a trouble regarding the remake rights issue. The buzz is that this movie is an official remake of the Bollywood hit film Special 26. The makers have apparently confirmed the same but added that they just took the core point and developed a new subject around it.
Suriya's upcoming movie 'Thaanaa Serndha Koottam' dubbed as 'Gang' in Telugu has fallen into a trouble regarding the remake rights issue. The buzz is that this movie is an official remake of the Bollywood hit film Special 26. The makers have apparently confirmed the same but added that they just took the core point and developed a new subject around it.
Actor Prashanth's mother, Shanthi Thyagarajan, has claimed that she had acquired the rights of the Bollywood film, 'Special 26', on which the film has been made. She also filed a case against the film's release. The fact is that Shanthi has the rights with her but she entered into an agreement in September 2016 and obtained the rights to remake the movie in Tamil.
Interestingly, the agreement was valid for one year within which the film wasn't made. Now, she has no right to go against the release of the film. Hence, the Madras High Court gave a clearance for the film's release.
The film is releasing on 12th of this month.
