Samantha in a supernatural thriller

After a horror flick ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’ and rustic entertainer ‘Rangasthalam,’, Samantha Akkineni is now trying her hand in a super natural thriller, for the first time in her career. She has joined the shooting of the Telugu remake of the Kannada blockbuster ‘U Turn’ in the direction of Pawan Kumar, produced by Srinivas Chitturi.

The untitled film also stars Aadi Pinnisetty who is basking in the glory of hits like ‘Sarrainodu’ and ‘Rangasthalam’ Actually, `U-Turn’ is the story of a journalist unravelling the mystery of motorists dying on a particular flyover with none-other-than Samantha playing the journo. Director Pawan Kumar terms Samantha’s role as ‘once-in-a-life time’ role which suits her ‘larger-than-life’ image. “Aadhi Pinisetty will be playing a cop in this bilingual and it is a well-etched role,’ he adds.

Elaborating further, Pawan said “The film ‘U-Turn’ has a universal theme and negates all regional boundaries. Also, it is a supernatural thriller and bound to connect with viewers across India,” he adds.

A special set is being erected in the city and the cast comprises of Naren and Bhumika Chawla in key roles. “The team is going overboard to recreate the original magic,’ said director Pawan Kumar.
