Can Keerthy pull off big openings?

After reigning stars Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan Tej and Allu Arjun drew sensational openings, it is now the turn of talented actress Keerthy Suresh to draw openings for her maiden female-centric movie ‘Mahanati’. Although, we are not trying to compare the young actress with T-town hearthrobs, Keerthy has to pull in openings to cover the big investment of Rs 25 crore plus.

“Keerthy Suresh stunned everyone with her makeover as Savitri and drew attention of Telugu audience in the two Telugu states as well as world over and bound to clock opening collections since the summer holidays are still on and star films are losing sheen at the box-office,” says distributor Bharat Bhushan, who praised producers and director Nag Ashwin for sustaining the buzz of the biopic of the iconic actress from the beginning.

“The production team has nicely worked out various promotional strategies and managed to keep the spotlight on the film from the day it took off to its release and that itself is an achievement with a young actress like Keerthy in the lead. Of course, the Malayalam actress carved a niche for herself in Telugu with hits like ‘Nenu Sailaja’ and ‘Nenu Local’ but since it is her maiden author-backed role, she has a point to prove,” he adds.
