After scoring an average movie with 'Jaya Janaki Nayaka', Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas came up with an action fantasy thriller 'Saakshyam' this time. DJ heartthrob Pooja Hegde played the female lead in the movie. Written and directed by Sriwass, Sai Madhav Burra penned the dialogues for this film.
Abhishek Nama bankrolled this project under Abhishek Pictures banner. Harshavardhan Rameshwar composed the tunes. Arthur A.Wilson handled the camera and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao did the editing work. The movie unit has been confident that the movie will definitely impress the audience. Let's see how far the movie succeeded in reaching the audience expectations.
Story:
The movie opens up with a sad scene in which ruthless villains Jagapathi Babu, Ashutosh Rana and Ravi Kishan mercilessly killing an entire family. A toddler is saved by cow miraculously. Cut to the present, the toddler is now Vishwa, a multimillionaire. The first half always reminds us that karma never fails to hit back, no matter what and though all the witnesses are killed, nature will always be the prime witness no one can destroy.
Cut to Dubai, Vishwa falls in love at first sight with beautiful Soundarya (Pooja Hegde). To impress her, he follows her to the village where the massacre happened. Now, nature comes to the rescue and helps Vishwa to avenge the death of his family. The rest of the story is about how nature helps Vishwa to get revenge.
Performances :
Bellamkonda Sreenivas showed a drastic improvement in his acting. He sure worked hard on this movie and showed a positive change in his performance, expressions and dance. He did well in the action sequences as well. As usual, stunning beauty Pooja Hegde has once again grabbed the attention with her performance and glamour show. Saakshyam movie sure brought out the best from the actors. Jagapathi Babu, Sarath Kumar and Meena who played the supporting roles appeared well on screen and did their jobs perfectly. The villains Ravi Kishan, Ashutosh Rana and Madhu Guruswamy did their parts convincingly well. Vennela Kishore, Rao Ramesh, Brahmaji, Jaya Prakash, Sameer and Pavitra Lokesh also marked their good screen presence.
Technical aspects :
It is a known fact that Sriwass sure tried out a new concept which no one has ever touched till then. He indulged a lot of thrills, emotions as well as drama but never moved out of the track
The visuals play a key role in the movie. In terms of the cinematography, Arthur A. Wilson is the major highlight of the film. Sai Madhav Burra penned some impactful dialogues in the film. Harshavardhan Rameshwar's music is decent whereas the lyrics by Ananth Sriram are awesome.
Verdict:
The major highlight of the film is definitely the striking visuals by the cinematographer. The first half has a lot of comedy, a romance which entertains the audience. The second half lacks a bit of pace and embedded a lot of action sequences. Though the second half is a little bit boring when compared the first half, the spectacular visuals and backgrounds engage the viewers well.
The locations in the songs are also excellent. Despite having some shortcomings, as the concept of the five elements of nature is an entirely new one, the audience will find it interesting.
Some scenes involving the nature, especially the cow saving the toddler got a lot of appreciation. In the end, it has just turned out to be an average outing.
