After superstars Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu, reigning star Allu Arjun has joined the elite Rs 20 crore club. If Telugu film industry sources are to be believed, the ‘Race Gurram’ star has revised his pay cheque and has reportedly pocketed Rs 20 crore-plus for his last release ‘Naa Peru Surya’ to join the top-league stars.
“Even though Allu Arjun didn’t take any money before or during the making of ‘Naa Peru Surya’, leading producer Lagadapati Sridhar paid the actor more than Rs 20 crore after making a business of over Rs 100 crore including all the rights,” says an industry source. No doubt, for the last few years, Allu Arjun has been on a winning spree with blockbusters like ‘Julayi’, ‘S/o Satyamurthy’ and the biggest hit of his career ‘Sarrainodu,’ which garnered more than Rs 60 crore in the two Telugu states.
His plans to do more star-centric movies has fetched him big dividends and expanded his brand equity and also his market which crossed the Rs 100 crore mark. “He has become a bankable superstar who can guarantee good business and openings. Although ‘Naa Peru Surya’ tanked at the box office, the charismatic star is on a roll,” the source concludes.
