Devadas is the crazy multistarrer starring Nani and Nagarjuna in the leads. The film is carrying a good buzz in the film industry as the makers came up with an impressive trailer cut. The film unit is hoping to score a hit and the young director Sriram Adithya is said to have lifted the Hollywood film Analyze This for the Telugu movie by making a lot of changes to the original. Nani will be seen as a doctor while Nagarjuna plays the role of a Don in the movie. Vyjayanthi Movies is making their comeback into the film production now. Ashwini Dutt is hoping for a great success on this movie. Aakanksha Singh and Rashmika are the heroines. Check out the review of the film here.
Story:
Deva (Nagarjuna Akkineni) is a dreadful don who is most wanted by the cops. He gets wounded and reaches out to Das (Nani), a doctor who saves his life. How did their relationship unfold? Who is Deva? What happens in the end? Forms the story of the movie.
Performances:
Nani, as usual, has delivered a natural performance and impressed in the character of an innocent doctor. Nani's mannerisms and spontaneous acts will surely entertain the audiences. Nagarjuna is stunning in the film and his look was stylish. He played his role so easily that he does not have to work a lot but just be himself on the screen. The bromance of Nag and Nani is impressive. The heroines Aakanksha Singh and Rashmika have impressed with their presence in the movie. They looked beautiful and acted well. The other actors like Vennela Kishore, Murli Sharma, and others are also impressive and made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects:
The film has great camera work by Shamdat. Every frame in the film looked rich as well as colorful. The background score of the film is the major highlight in the movie.
Mani Sharma has maintained the proper tempo in elevating the film wherever necessary with his score. The songs are good on the screen as well. The artwork is excellent. The writing is decent. Vyjayanthi movies maintained proper production values for the film.
Verdict:
Despite not having a solid story, the director concentrated more on entertainment element and engaging the audience with comedy. The movie stars on a boring note with the first 15 minutes testing the audience patience. But the film engages the audience after the entry of Nani and Nag.
Nagarjuna's entry is a must-watch. The duo leads get acquainted and then starts the entertainment. The interval bang is good and interesting. The second failed to continue the pace. The boring and draggy scenes might irk the audience but the movie succeeds in reaching the expectations. Keeping the story aside, the movie is a complete entertainer. If comedy entertainer is your favourite genre then 'Devadas' is for you.
