Senior Telugu actor Vijay Prasad 75, more popularly known in film circles as Vizag Prasad, passed away at the Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad on Sunday after a prolonged illness
Senior Telugu actor Vijay Prasad (75), more popularly known in film circles as ‘Vizag Prasad’, passed away at the Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad on Sunday after a prolonged illness. His role as father to the late uday Kiran in the film ‘Nuvvu Nenu’ (2001) received critical acclaim. According to reports, Prasad died in the early hours of Sunday due to cardiac arrest. Prasad had also starred in several television serials like ‘Idhi Maa Prema Katha’, ‘Allari Bullodu’, and ‘Ranivari Bangla’.
Prasad had also acted in one Tamil film, ‘Unnal Mudiyum Thambi’, starring Kamal Haasan. Prasad was said to have been introduced to Telugu films with the movie ‘Babaayi Abbayi (1985) starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and helmed by the late Jandhyala. His other films include ‘Nee Premakai’ and ‘Jai Chiranjeeva.’ Totally, he has worked in more than 175 films. Many Tollywood personalities expressed their condolences over his death.
