Multi-starrer films are always fun to watch. After 'Shamanthakamani', Sudheer Babu and Nara Rohit teamed up again for a crime thriller 'Veera Bhoga Vasantha Rayalu'. Sree Vishnu also played a crucial role in the film. Senior beauty Shriya Saran added glamour quotient. New director Indrasena marked his directorial debut with the film. With the posters and trailer, the film carried a decent pre-release buzz. Amid high expectations, the film finally hit the screens today. Let's check out the review of the film.
Story:
Three stories run simultaneously in the film. The major story is about hijack of a flight containing Indian cricketers and celebrities. The second one is about child abductions in Hyderabad and the last one is about a little kid who files a complaint in a police station regarding his missing house.
Special investigating officer Deepak Reddy (Nara Rohit) and Neelima (Shriya Saran) are investigating the flight case and S.I. Vinay (Sudheer Babu) looks after the missing home case. The hijacker demands that the criminals should be killed by the government should kill 300 criminals. Will the government accept his proposal? What’s the underlying connection between the three sub-plots forms the crux of the story.
Performances:
Sudheer Babu got the lengthier role when compared with the screen times of other actors. He performed really well. He played a police officer for the first time in his career but justified his character. But Sudheer's voice can be considered as a major setback for the film as he is not the one who gave dubbing for the role. Nara Rohith and Shriya got good roles.
Nara Rohit delivered a great performance and Shriya too showcased her versatile acting skills. Sree Vishnu tried a different kind of role for the first time in his career but his dialogue delivery is bad. The rest of the cast also did well.
Technical Aspects:
The story is quite good and intriguing but the director's narration is a disaster. His slow-paced narration tests the patience. He handled the script poorly. Production values of Apparao Bellana under Baba Creations are terrible.
It could have been far better if the producers have invested somewhat more. Music by Mark K Robin in good. The music is good but because of the visuals, it wasn't much appealing. Camera work by S Venkat and Naveen Yadav. Editing by Shashank Mali is also poor. Sometimes the scenes will be rushed and the other times they are draggy. The runtime is crisp.
Verdict:
The starting 30 minutes of the film is engaging with the intriguing plot lines. However, the director failed to make the audience stick to the chairs. The first half is better when compared to the illogical scenes in the second half. The actors performances are the only good things in the film.
The plotlines are interesting but the slow-paced narration make the audience lose interest. The climax is too good and the director left some knots to make a sequel. On the whole, 'Veera Bhoga Vasantha Rayalu' is a one-time watch film.
