Contrary to rumours that actress Varalakshmi Sarathakumar would be marrying Tamil star Vishal, she claimed that she would get him married with another girl. “Firstly, I am not dating Vishal and have no plans to marry him. Rather, I am scouting for a right girl for Vishal and I’ll get him married soon. Because we are just good friends,” said the Tamil actress to the media while promoting her upcoming film ‘Sarkar’. “I am neither essaying a negative or positive role, its kind of a grey role.
I am playing a politician and I can’t divulge more details,” said the daughter of star-turned-politician Sarath Kumar. On the ongoing ‘Metoo’ campaign, she adds “The whole purpose of this campaign is to name and shame the person who has harassed girls. I heard some people saying why can’t these girls go to police stations and courts, that’s a bull shit argument, because this movement is meant to expose sexual predators and caution people to be alert. Many are spending sleepless nights, because they don’t know whose name will come next, that’s what we wanted.
We also wanted to end the menace of casting couch as well,” she points out. Though she is the daughter of a politician, she doesn’t want to join her father in politics. “I firmly said no,” she added. However, she has great regard for the late Chief Minister J Jayalalitha, “She is an iron lady who proved that a woman can scale great heights and a great inspiration for me,” she adds. On doing straight Telugu movies, she informs “I am ready to do any kind of role-dark, grey- in Telugu movies,” she adds. Finally, expressing happiness about sharing screen space with her dad in Tamil film 'Nanban', she said, “We are playing father and daughter on screen.”
