No other Kannada movie has got the kind of attention 'KGF' has. Touted to be the 'Baahubali' of Kannada, the Chapter 1 of the movie has finally hit the screens today on December 21st, 2018. Starring Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, Ramya Krishna, Ananth Nag, Vasishta N Simha etc, Prashanth Neel helmed this magnum opus.
The movie is a period drama which showcases the history of waging wars in Kolar Gold Fields. Amid high expectations, the movie got released in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi languages. Vijay Kiragandur bankrolled this project. Let's check out the review of the film.
Story:
Set in the backdrop of Mumbai, the film narrates the story of Rocky (Yash) who lands himself in Mumbai when he was a child. Rocky works hard in Mumbai and grows as a big head in the crime world.
When he is doing well in the crime world, he receives an offer to kill someone from KGF. Who gave the offer to Rocky? Did he accomplish the task successfully? What happens in the end? Forms the story of the movie.
Performances:
Yash is undoubtedly one of the most talented and sought out actors in Kannada. The rocking star delivered a powerful and dashing performance in the film. His character will definitely leave a big impact on the audience. His stupendous performance is undoubtedly one of the major driving factors of the film. Srinidhi Shetty looked beautiful in the film. She also had an amazing screen presence.
She is not only looked beautiful in the film, but she will also definitely impress the audience with her cute performance. Achyuth Kumar is the show stealer. He delivered a powerful and an eye-grabbing performance. Malavika Avinash performed really well Ananth Nag delivered a good performance. Vasishta N Simha is energetic and delivered good performance. The rest of the cast also made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects:
The production values of Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale films are lavish. Some of the dialogues will definitely give goosebumps to the audience. The cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda is mind-blowing.
He produced some excellent visuals which added more intensity to the film. The Music by Ravi Basrur and Tanishk Bagchi also will also impress the audience. Especially the background score will definitely increase the elevation of the scenes. The music during the action sequences is fantastic. Editing by Shrikanth is also pretty good.
Verdict:
Prashanth Neel's screenplay is mind-blowing. Each and every frame looks like a painting. The hard work of the entire cast and crew is visible in every scene. What lacks for the film is a racy narration and a proper story. The film lacks the much-needed core point that keeps the audiences excited constantly.
Even though Yash tried his best in terms of the performance, and the technical team has given their best, the movie falls flat. The first half of the movie has nothing great to tell and the story only begins in the second half. The hurried execution tests the patience of the audiences. On the whole, the film is not worth the hype.
