Young Hero Varun Tej who recently delivered a super hit movie like 'Tholi Prema' has now come up with a space thriller 'Antariksham 9000 kmph'. Touted to be the first of its kind in Tollywood, 'Ghazi' fame Sankalp Reddy helmed this project. Aditi Rao Hydari and Lavanya Tripathi played the female leads in the movie which has been carrying a decent pre-release buzz. The trailer of the film has received a thumping response from the audience and the movie has finally made it into the theatres today on December 21st, 2018. The movie unit is super confident about the outcome of the flick. Let's see the review of the movie:
Story:
Mihira is an Indian satellite which suddenly loses its track and is about to crash the global communication system. The only person who can fix Mihira is Dev (Varun Tej) who quits his job in the same Space Centre five years back due to a personal tragedy. Riya (Aditi Rao Hydari) decides to bring him back to help them fix Mihira. Initially, Dev hesitates to get back but later gets convinced. Now, Dev, Riya and two other astronauts (Raja Chebolu and Satyadev Kancharana) set out to fix Mihira. Did they succeed in their mission? Did they successfully come back to the earth? forms the crux of the story.
Performances:
Varun Tej is absolutely dashing in the film. There is no doubt that Varun is showing improvement with each movie and he did it again with this film. He has went into the skin of the character and will greatly impress us with his honest performance. It is evident that he had worked really hard for the film. Aditi Rao Hydari has given her best performance. Especially in the second half, her performance is outstanding. Lavanya Tripathi also had an amazing screen presence. Her beauty will definitely grab the attention of the audience. She looked absolutely stunning and delivered a memorable performance. Satyadev Kancharana also delivered his best performance. He justified his character really well. Rahman also had a decent screen presence. Srinivas Avasarala never fails to amaze us with his performance. He got a meaty role in this movie and he delivered his best performance. Kunal Kaushik also had a good screen presence. The rest of the cast also made the made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects:
The production values by First Frame Entertainments are lavish. The producers have invested a massive amount in this movie. The visuals by Gnanasekar are amazing. The dialogues by Kittu Vissapragada are good. Music by Prashanth R Vihari is the major highlight of the film. More than the songs his terrific BGM elevated scenes really well. Editing by Karthik Srinivas is good. Owing to the genre of the film, the runtime is crisp.
Verdict:
Sankalp Reddy has again proved that he can keep the audience at the edge of their seat with his films with a gripping screenplay. He will give us an amazing and exhilarating experience. Sankalp Reddy has prepared a gripping screenplay for the film which tries to engage the audience but fails in some sequences. The first half is about the flashback of Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi which is shown in a beautiful way. The interval bang is awesome. The second half starts on an interesting note but fails to impress the audience as there are some scenes which actually test the patience of the audience. The entire second half runs with the space backdrop. Few of the segments give goosebumps to the audience but there are also some equally boring scenes which could have been chopped off. The climax ends on a decent and happy note. On the whole, 'Antariksham 9000 kmph' is a worth watching space thriller which is the first of its kind in Tollywood.
