Three movies that belong to three different genres hit the screens yesterday. They are space thriller 'Antariksham 9000 kmph', romantic entertainer 'Padi Padi Leche Manasu', an action period drama 'KGF'.
All the three movies carried a decent pre-release buzz and got a wide release at the US box office. But they all opened with mediocre collections on the first day. Varun Tej starrer, 'Antariksham' under the direction of Sankalp Reddy made a collection of $81 K on Day 1. Sharwanand's 'Padi Padi Leche Manasu' directed by Hanu Raghavapudi made only $67K yesterday. On the other hand, 'KGF' which is one of the much-anticipated films in Kannada made an opening day collection of $54K. All the films got below average talk. In fact, as they made big noises before the release, the trade expected that all the three well make huge collections.
But the dull collections of these films disappointed the distributors. However, because of the long weekend, we can expect that these films can make decent collections despite average talk. Let's wait and see..
