Seasoned star Balakrishna has reportedly surpassed his arch rival Chiranjeevi in selling of digital rights and has set a record of sorts. According to a source, the scion of Nandamuri family has reportedly sold the digital rights of his upcoming movie ‘N.T.R’ for Rs 25 crore to Amazon Prime, while megastar’s historical film ‘Sye Ra…’ was sold for Rs 20 crore. “Balakrishna’s film got the highest price for digital rights ever paid for a Telugu cinema till date and the price includes Hindi, Telugu and Tamil versions as well,” adds the source, close to the unit.

Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi have been arch rivals for the last two decades and are still at loggerheads even at this stage of their careers, giving each other a run for their money. “Even the satellite rights are pegged above Rs 20 crore and it would fetch Rs 45 crore including digital rights, the highest amount paid for a seasoned star in Telugu,” the source adds.

No doubt, the demand for the biopic of legendary NTR is growing by the day and even theatrical rates will be the highest in the career of Balakrishna, the source concludes. Nonetheless, the middle-aged heroes have surpassed young generation stars Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the digital rights segment.
