Pia Sukanya who is gearing up for the release of comedy mystery, Bombairiya says they wanted the film's title to make everyone curious and she it happy to see a similar response from audience.

Pia interacted with media alongside cast, Radhika Apte, Siddhanth Kapoor and Akshay Oberoi for the film's promotion on tuesday.

When asked how did they came up with as unique name as Bombairiya, Pia said, " We were looking for a very unique name for this story that would capture the humour, mystery behind the story and the spirit of the city. Our writer producer Michael Ward, who also happens to be my husband didn't Know what Bairiya means. So I told him it's like enemies who also love each other. So few days later he came up with the name Bombairiya.

And I just love it because it had the word bomb which is interestingly relevant to the film, it had Bairiya and it captured the name of the city as well. The whole point of the title is that it makes everyone curious. It evokes a sense of fun and I am so glad that's the response it is getting. "

Bombairiya's 'World Premiere' was held on the 14th of January at the Diorama International Film Festival and Market .

Talking about the film Pia revealed the film is inspired by a real life incident, "The phone theft incident in the film is a true story. From there we started writing this story. So ultimately 80% of the story is fictionalized. "

The film It follows the story of Meghna aka Radhika, who gets embroiled in a series of events after her phone gets stolen. Bombairiya also stars, Siddhant Kapoor, Akshay Oberoi, Ravi Kishan, Adil Hussain, Shilpa Shukla, Ajinkya Deo, and Amit Sial in pivotal roles.

Written and produced by an Irish man, Michale E Ward, the film releases on 18th Jan 2019.
