After facing two back to back debacles with 'Akhil' and 'Hello', for Akkineni Akhil has been all his expectations on his recent outing 'Mr Majnu'. Touted to be a romantic entertainer, Venky Atluri helmed this project.
Nidhhi Agerwal of 'Savyasachi' fame played the female lead in the movie. After creating a decent pre-release buzz, the movie has finally hit the screens on January 25th, 2019.
The movie opened with a positive response from the audience. But collections are just average. Not only in the Telugu States, but the collections are also just moderate in overseas as well. After 'Vinaya Vidheya Rama', Akhil's 'Mr. Majnu' is going to end up as a disaster at the US box office. The Overseas rights were sold for 3 crores and seeing the collections of 'Mr. Majnu', the film is much likely to wrap up its final run with a gross of $ 250K.
So, the distributors will barely recover their expenses and will face some losses. Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara creations banner bankrolled this project and SS Thaman scored music for this film.
