Actress Alia Bhatt who has turned producer by setting up a production house called ‘Eternal Sunshine Productions’ has made it clear that she will never direct a film but she would like to produce films and work for social causes.
Alia Bhatt was interacting with the media at fourth edition of Outlook Business magazine’s ‘Women of Worth’ awards on Wednesday in Mumbai.
After a string of successful films in the acting field, Alia Bhatt has confirmed that she will be turning producer and has set up her production company called Eternal Sunshine Productions, talking about her new venture, Alia said, “I have opened my company and hopefully with that company, I shall produce films and content. Honestly, I love being an actor. I love acting but in life, I want to do something more. I want to produce films but I will never direct a film. I want to work for social causes like I have started a campaign called ‘CoExist’ so, there is lot of things that I can do with my life. It’s just the beginning.”
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor along with director Ayan Mukerji on Tuesday unveiled the logo of their much-awaited film ‘Brahmastra’ on the last day of Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj (Allahabad).
Talking about the experience attending Kumbh Mela, Alia said, “It was unbelievable. It was such a beautiful, pure, spiritual, emotional and fantastic experience to see our logo in the sky. People say that ‘touch the sky’ and we literally touched the sky with our logo. Hopefully, eventually when the film will release people will like it so, I am very excited for it. From tomorrow, we are starting journey of ‘Kalank’ so, there is too much this week in store for everybody and just wait and watch for it.”
Alia Bhatt’s last released film ‘Gully Boy’ has managed to collect a total of Rs 129.60 crore in nineteen days at the box office. In the film, she played role of a feisty medical student who is immensely possessive about her boyfriend played by Ranveer Singh, when asked Alia whether people get scare of her after watching performance in the film, she said, “Yes. Now people are scared of me saying that ‘how you can get so much angry in the film? You can beat us but you doesn’t look like that from your face so, I am like that’s nice that people can get little scared of me but actually in I will never do something like this in my life.”
Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Brahmastra’ is a fantasy film written and directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar.
It also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Mouni Roy, Dimple Kapadia and Nagarjuna Akkineni. It will serve as the first film in a planned trilogy.
‘Brahmastra’ is scheduled for release on 20 December 2019.
