Sarvanand, working at an IT firm in Hyderabad, married Padmapriya, who hails from Bangalore, in 2011. Ever since his marriage they had frequent fights. Sarvanand eventually learnt that Padma Priya was already married in 2007 and divorced but hid this truth from him.
Sarvanand moved away from her soon as he learnt this truth. Angry with this, Padma Priya and her mother started harassing him everyday.
The accused Sarvanand and Padmapriya filed some cases against each other in Bangalore courts. She along with her mother were living in his house following a court order.
