Visakhapatnam: Two SSC students of JMJ Residential School, near Munagapaka, in the district, allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a speeding train at Lankelapalem late on Monday night. The deaths came to light on Tuesday. They were identified as M Swaroop and G Jogeswara Rao, both aged 14 and residents of NGOs’ Colony, Anakapalle.
The duo came here to visit the Mary Matha Festival on the Rose Hill, R K Beach, and other places on Monday. They visited a friend’s house at Lankelapalem and left in the night, stating that they were returning home. However, both were found dead on the railway track on Tuesday. Local residents informed the Government Railway Police.
Inspector A Parthasarathy said a suicide note found at the spot stated that the students were happy with their parents and friends and that none was responsible for their deaths. It said the two read The Bible before attempting suicide, the motive for which remains a mystery. The bodies were sent to KGH for post-mortem. The police registered a case.
