Nalgonda: Girl harassed by auto driver ends life
Girl harassed by auto driver ends life, Janani's Case, Janani, Auto-driver’s harassment in nalgond. As the village has only upper primary school, the students on completion of their seventh standard attend the high school in the nearby Pamanagundla village.
Nalgonda: Janani, a Class X student from Yerasanigudem village of Kattangur mandal in Nalgonda, committed suicide by jumping into a well in the village late on Tuesday night, allegedly due to an auto-driver’s harassment.
Janani left the house on Tuesday evening but did not return. The worried parents searched for her but in vain. On Wednesday, her body was found in an agricultural well in the village. Police fished out the body and investigation is on.
As the village has only upper primary school, the students on completion of their seventh standard attend the high school in the nearby Pamanagundla village.
Janani, like all others, used to go to the school in an auto. It is learnt that the auto driver, Nakka Saidulu, was harassing her for the past 10 months with love offers.
Fearing that her parents would discontinue her education she did not tell them about the harassment.
Unable to bear the mental torture any longer, Janani reportedly committed suicide, according to the police.
