Malkapur woman sets kids, self ablaze over financial woes

A widow from Malkapur village in Kondapur mandal, unable to handle financial problems self immolated after setting her two kids ablaze in the wee hours on Monday.

Identified as Mangamma, doused her two kids - Nikhita and Srikanth with kerosene while they were asleep and set them on fire. She jumped into the fire later and killed herself. The neighbours who witnessed the incident shifter her to Sangareddy government hospital but all three died at the hospital.

A case has been registered by the Kondapur police and the investigation has begun. With the entire responsibility on her shoulders after her husband Yadaiah's death, Mangamma found it difficult to look after her own children who had mental and physical disorders. These isues led her to take the extreme step.
