Following a spat, a 38-year-old man was killed by his drunk friend at Venkateswaranagar Colony in Malkajgiri. The accused identified as S Chandrasekhar had allegedly slit the throat of his friend UN Samuel after an argument took place between them.

The accused later tried to mislead the police by making the murder look like a robbery gone wrong by strewing household articles, chilli powder and washing powder. However, a complaint from their common friend led to the police apprehending the suspect.

Rapid Action Force constable Prabhakar was with the friends while they were drinking together but left at about 11.30 pm on Monday. The constable informed the police after Samuel’s body was found in his flat that the duo had personal and financial disputes amongst them. A police official stated that Samuel’s body covered with blood was found on a chair.

Malkajgiri ACP M. Ravichandra Reddy said that Samuel and Chandrasekhar got into a dispute over a financial matter after Prabhakar left. Adding further the ACP said that Chandrasekhar was provoked by Samuel who apparently abused his wife and children after which the former attacked with a knife.

Chandrashekhar, a native of Adilabad had come to the city to discuss with Samuel over the money he had taken while promising him a job and did not return the money.
