Hyderabad: The Market Intelligence Team of Hyderabad city police apprehended the owner of a private firm on Wednesday for cheating unemployed persons on the pretext of paying money for data entry works.

The accused, Kurwa Ranganna alias Ranganath (38), owner of LVR Techno Solutions located in SR Nagar, gave false advertisements in the district edition of a popular Telugu daily offering Data Entry works to unemployed persons.

The police said that the victim, after seeing the advertisement, called the accused, Ranganath on the mobile number published in the advertisements. Then Ranganath met the caller and explained him about the nature of work.

He collected Rs 3,000 from the victim towards registration fee and sent the data through his email [email protected].

When the victim completed the work and sent it back, Ranganath denied to pay the promised amount saying that the work was incomplete and full of errors. When the victim called Ranganath repeatedly for payment, he blocked the victim’s number and evaded the victim.

After arresting the accused, Ranganath, the police found a hard disc, mobile phone with working SIM card and Rs 30,000 cash.About 10 victims have approached the CCS police to complain about the fraud done by the accused.

T Prabhakar Rao, Joint Commissioner f Detective Department, said that the team was also trying to identify other victims, who were cheated by Ranganath.
